cause of death for Paul Di’Anno, former lead singer of Iron Maiden It has been revealed.
The singer, who was born Paul Andrews but better known by his stage name Paul Di’Anno, died at his home in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, on October 21 at the age of 66.
A statement for the late rock star was posted on Monday facebook page Shared that his death was caused by a “tear in the sac around the heart”.
“After receiving the results of the autopsy, we have received permission from Paul’s family to bring you news of Paul’s cause of death,” the statement began.
“His sisters Cheryl and Michelle confirmed the following: ‘Basically the sac around his heart had ruptured and blood from the main aorta had flooded inside it and caused the heart to stop.’ Paul’s death was immediate and hopefully painless.
The statement added: “This weekend, an In Memoriam show was held at Underworld Camden, attended by many of Paul’s fans, friends, colleagues and family members. With a spectacular musical set, his musical colleagues gave their friend a worthy farewell.
This is a developing story.
