Steven Knight had the following to say about the film;

Tom Harper has been confirmed as the film’s director. He previously directed the second half of the first season of Peaky Blinders and is no stranger to production.
Harper had the following to say about the film;
“When I first directed Peaky Blinders 10 years ago, we didn’t know what the series would become, but we did know that there was something in the alchemy of the cast and the writing that felt explosive. Peaky has always been a story about family – and so it’s incredibly exciting to reunite with Steve and Cillian to bring the film to audiences around the world on Netflix.

On August 30, Netflix announced that Barry Keoghan had joined the cast of the Peaky Blinders film. His role in the film has not been revealed yet. In September, Netflix confirmed that Tim Roth (pulp Fiction) and rebecca ferguson (dune) joined the cast of peaky blinders Movies.
On October 11, Netflix announced that five cast members from the series would return to reprise their roles in the Peaky Blinders film;
- Stephen Graham as Hayden Stagg.
- Sophie Rundle as Ada Shelby.
- Ned Dennehy as Charlie Strong.
- Packie Lee as Johnny Doggs.
- Ian Peck as Curly.
In the announcement, he also confirmed that Jay Lycurgo (titans, batman) joins the cast that we previously reported on along with the fact that we understand Tom Hardy will be reprising his role for the big return.

Cameras are officially rolling on the Peaky Blinders movie starting September 30, 2024. Filming was initially scheduled to continue through the end of the year with an initial wrap set for December 30. Most of the filming took place at Digbeth Folk in Birmingham, UK.
Steven Knight shared his excitement about the start of production:
“I am thrilled to see the cameras rolling on this new chapter of the Peaky Blinders story, set during World War II. The country is at war, and of course, our Peaky Blinders are at war too.

Director Tom Harper also had the following to say;
“There is a great sense of anticipation and excitement among our outstanding cast and crew. We are grateful to the fans for getting us to this point and are confident that this next chapter will deliver something extraordinary.”
In mid-November, Netflix published a blog post discussing The production of the film and its impact on the local economy of the West Midlands. The Mayor of the West Midlands, Richard Parker, praised the show’s global impact, saying, “Peaky Blinders has had an incredible impact on domestic and overseas audiences, and has put our region on the international stage.” He stressed that Netflix’s involvement signals confidence in local talent and the potential of the UK’s creative industries.

What is the story of Peaky Blinders movie?
All current details of the plot have been kept secret. However, in April 2022, Deadline reported that Knight confirmed The story will take place during World War II.
What does this mean for World War I veteran Tommy Shelby? Enemies at home, such as fascist Oswald Moseley, could keep Shelby in check, not to mention Boston gangster Jack Nelson or his cousin Michael’s widow Gina Grey.

When is the Peaky Blinders movie coming to Netflix?
Given that filming is scheduled to take place later this year, it’s highly unlikely it will arrive in 2024.
The film will most likely be released in fall 2025.
For now, we are waiting for an official announcement from Netflix.
Will this film be available on Netflix in the UK?
Nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing. Given that the series was a BBC production, we wouldn’t be surprised if the film aired on BBC One and then was released on Netflix UK at a later date.
