We are aware of the latest revelation from Eve Hewson.
The “Perfect Couple” actress recently opened up about how her father, Bono, has supported her career in Hollywood.
“He's a stage dad,” the 33-year-old said. Today monday. “But I've called her that name before, and she likes it, but she's the male Kris Jenner.
“He's all about it, just a huge fan,” Hewson said of the U2 frontman. “He's always saying, 'So this is what you've got to do: you've got to call this person, you've got to do this,' and I'm like, 'Oh my god, calm down.'”
TODAY's Craig Melvin asked if Bono, 64, still behaves this way now that his daughter is grown up.
“Oh, you still can't stop him,” Hewson replied, smiling.
Bono and his wife, activist Ali Hewson, married in 1982. At the New Yorker Festival in 2022, the rocker spoke candidly about his wife and family life over the years.
“That's the great madness about us,” Bono said on the programme. People“Knowing that you're going against the odds is something special. But if you ask me seriously, I would say that friendship can sometimes even surpass romantic love. And friendship is what Ali and I have. When you have both romantic love and friendship, it's really something special.”
The Irish singer, who also has children Jordan (35), Eliza (25) and John (23) with Ali, said the couple have remained committed to their marriage despite the difficult times.
“Whenever one of us got lost, the other one… was there to get the other one home. And I'm so grateful,” he explained. “And 40 years is a powerful number for me. It's a powerful number for Ali. And when we got to 40, it was spectacular, and we thought, 'Let's not screw this up now.'”
Hewson has also spoken publicly about her famous family, and joked about not being included in the Hollywood “nepo baby” debate in 2022.
“Actually I'm so frustrated that I'm not included in the Napo Baby article as if they haven't seen my hit show Bad Sisters??? The Nerve,” she tweeted at the time.
Hewson later gave an explanation Follow-up Tweets: “Those of you who have just become aware of my existence often ask me about my privilege. And I'm always very keen to explain how much my father's name helped me get my start in acting. I'm so grateful for the opportunities I've had in my life… And to the Twitter bots and girls who call me a spoiled brat… please don't forget to keep a sense of humour in life. And try to be kind. We all need a little more kindness in the world. Lots of love.”
The “Flora & Son” alum also explained why she and her siblings aren't forming a sibling band, despite their musical origins.
“We have a studio at the end of (my parents') garden where we usually sit around until midnight writing stupid songs,” Hewson explains. Net-a-Porter's Porter Magazine in August. “I actually got kicked out of the family band for being too enthusiastic. One evening, I saw they were all in the studio together. I went in, I grabbed a bass, I started slapping the bass.”
But her brothers didn't like it at all. As she explained, “They said, 'You have to leave. This is not our choice.'”
Did Bono also attend the late-night concert?
“No,” Hewson admitted. “He was asleep by ten o'clock every night.”
Meanwhile, the “Bad Sisters” actress continues her journey toward stardom by starring in the Netflix hit “The Perfect Couple” alongside Nicole Kidman, Meghann Fahy, Dakota Fanning and Liev Schreiber.
Based on Elin Hilderbrand's best-selling thriller, this murder mystery was produced during the off-season on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Hewson said the cast performed the murders on weekends for a very good reason.
“Halfway through (shooting), everybody started getting restless (because) we had to get out of Cape Cod,” he said. “We knew each other pretty well by this time. So, the axe throwing was very therapeutic.”
