Pollster Nate Silver calls for Biden to resign after claiming he’s not ‘competent’: ‘Let Harris serve’

election guru Nate Silver argued that “there is no particular reason to believe that Biden is capable of being president right now” and called on him to resign.

Silver commented on one Washington Post article From Tuesday in which President Biden was described avoiding the press while attending the G-20 summit in Brazil.

“chairman Joe Biden In the middle of the Amazon rainforest, it was not safe from mosquitoes, fire ants and loud macaws. But there was another pest he managed to avoid: the swarm of journalists traveling with him,” the Post reported.

“During a six-day trip abroad to Peru and Brazil, which ended on Monday, the president rarely spoke in public, answering almost no questions despite repeated attempts to talk. “A television producer started writing the message on a large pad of paper, and Biden held it up as he boarded Air Force One and departed.”

Silver suggested the report was another sign that Biden was unable to lead in the final weeks of his presidency.

“Is there any particular reason to believe that Biden is capable of being president right now? This is a very difficult job. It’s a dangerous world. High-risk decisions in Ukraine. She should resign and let Harris serve out the last 2 months,” Silver wrote on XWednesday.

Before the election, Silver repeatedly floated the idea of replacing Biden with a different candidate and even called for Biden to resign in July after his disastrous ABC interview with George Stephanopoulos.

Silver commented on a Washington Post article that claimed Biden was avoiding the press while attending the G-20 summit in Brazil. AP

“I deleted today’s column and removed a line that said he should prepare a plan to transfer the presidency to Harris within 30-60 days, but I’m there now,” Silver said at the time. ”

“Something is clearly wrong here.”

Silver concluded, “The most generous way to say it is that he doesn’t appear to be in command, and that’s an extremely hard sell when you’re commander in chief” – adding that he believed “Democrats will apply incredible amount of pressure”. Resign the President.

He previously suggested replacing Biden in June, saying it would have been better for Democrats if he had dropped out of the race last year.

“But Biden hit a new all-time low in approval yesterday at 538 (37.4%). Going out would be a big risk. But there are certain limits below which continuing to run is a huge risk. Are We There Yet? I don’t know. But it’s more than fair to ask,” Silver wrote.

“The clear thing, IMO, is that Biden would have been better served if Biden had decided not to seek a second term a year ago, giving him some semblance of a primary process and allowing voters to make his case among the many popular Democrats.” Get a chance to. Country.”
