Jack Revill, better known by his stage name Jackmaster, died Saturday morning from “complications resulting from an accidental head injury,” according to a statement from his family.
“It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster,” he said.

“While deeply touched by the overwhelming support of friends, colleagues and fans, the family requests privacy to overcome the immense grief of this devastating loss.”
His family described him as a “pioneer” in the electronic music scene and that he had a talent for “blending genres and delivering electrifying DJ sets”.
“His legacy will continue to inspire and his impact on the world of dance music will be indelible,” he said.
The 38-year-old learned to DJ at the age of 12 and spent most of his teenage years in clubs and bars around Glasgow before landing a permanent resident position at Glasgow techno institution Monox.
In 2010 Revil was awarded Breakthrough DJ at DJ Magazine’s Best of British Awards and four years later was awarded Best DJ at the same awards show.
He was also the co-founder of record label and club night promoter Numbers.
Fellow electronic DJs and producers have paid tribute to Reveille, including English music duo Disclosure.
“Can’t believe it. Heart broken. Thanks Jack for all the wonderful memories and inspiration. It’s terrible, terrible, terrible,” he said.
South Korean DJ and singer Kim Min-ji, known as Peggy Gou, said: “RIP Jack” while Danish DJ Kolsch said Revil’s death was “terrible news”.
