On August 15, Malone released his first official country album, “F-1 Trillion”.
The 18-track record is a departure from a cool rapper’s typical output, but it’s hard to tell because he’s so comfortable with the genre.
Americana-fried bops like “Have a Heart” (featuring Dolly Parton), the aforementioned “What Doesn’t Belong to Me” and the boot-stompin “Wrong Ones” perfectly balance Malone’s hip-hop attitude and her new country sound. .
“Finer Things” isn’t half bad, either.

On October 11, Jelly Roll released a 28-song expanded edition of their “Beautifully Broken” album.
Clocking in at 83 minutes, the Tennessee native paints a picture of his struggle with sobriety through joyful, adventurous country. Most of the songs here start out small and intimate and soon turn into powerful stadium anthems, perfect for next summer’s tour.
Highlights here include the twangy, emotional, country, bluegrass, folk and rock mashup “Liar”, the vulnerable ballad “I’m Not OK” and the boot-stomping, hand-clapping banger “Get By”.
We’re also quite fond of Ernest’s finger-snappin’ jam “Everyone Bleeds” and the fiddle-heavy “Devil Down.”
