Prince Harry is continuing his globe-trotting tour without his wife Meghan Markle.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, arrived in South Africa on Tuesday after a brief visit to his home soil earlier this week.
Harry later posed for a photo with Lesotho’s Princess Sennett Seeiso, 23, when the pair had lunch shortly after his arrival.
The father of two – whose wife and children stayed in Montecito, California – is in South Africa to work on his charity, Sentebale.
Harry co-founded the youth-focused organization in 2006 with Prince Seiso – Princess Senate Seiso’s uncle.
“Had the pleasure of hosting the Duke of Sussex for lunch today,” the princess wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself with the Duke.
She later shared a video on her Instagram Story, in which Harry talks about the work his charity is doing in the country during the Camp Fire.
“Inspirational and passionate conversation around the bonfire with my uncle Prince Seeiso and The Duke aka Mohale,” he wrote, adding: “Welcome to Nate.”
“Natet” is a Sesotho word meaning “father” or “uncle.”
Harry is no stranger to South Africa, having spent two months there in 2004 when he was 19.
The Duke founded his charity, whose name translates to “don’t forget me”, in honor of his late mother Princess Diana, whose favorite flower was forget-me-not. The charity helps underprivileged children.
Harry is expected to visit Lesotho to “see Sentebale’s programs at work” before flying to Johannesburg.
The exiled royal last visited South Africa with his wife and their son, Prince Archie, 5, in 2019, when he was still working in the royal family.
Harry’s visit comes just days after he flew to London to attend a number of charity events, including his annual Wellchild Awards on Monday night.
But despite being on home turf – and just less than an hour away from his brother Prince William’s home – the Duke did not meet any members of the royal family.
This has been claimed by palace sources Queen Camilla urges King Charles to avoid Meeting with royal family friend Harry to avoid unnecessary stress during cancer battle told the daily beast,
Camilla also wants her husband to get fit enough to travel to Australia later this month – a trip he is preparing for by enjoying some time at his Scottish residence.
The 75-year-old monarch has seen Harry only once this year, when the duke visited the UK in February after hearing about his father’s cancer diagnosis.
Before his quick trip to London, Harry spent some time in New York City, where he joined Queen Massenet Mohato Seeiso of Lesotho at the United Nations on September 24.
This trip, which was another solo venture for the Duke, saw him discuss the work he had done in South Africa.
“The beautiful mountain kingdom feels like a home away from home,” Harry said of Lesotho.
“I was impressed by the strength and courage of your people, and especially the children, amidst enormous challenges. Because of that experience, the people I met and the people I became acquainted with, two years later we created Sentebale.
In addition to his charity work, Harry hosts an annual Sentebale Polo Cup through which he raises funds for the organisation.
