Princess Michael of Kent has spoken for the first time about the shocking suicide of her son-in-law Thomas Kingston.
The husband of Princess Michael’s daughter, Lady Gabriella Windsor, died on February 25 at the age of 45. A gun was found next to his body, which was found at his parents’ home in the Cotswolds.
A coroner stated that the cause of death was “traumatic wounds to the head”. The officer also concluded that Kingston took his own life.

The royal family and his family released a statement on February 27, confirming Kingston’s death.
“It is with extreme sadness that we announce the death of our beloved husband, son and brother, Thomas Kingston,” the statement said. “Tom was an extraordinary man who brightened the lives of all who knew him. “His death is a huge blow to the entire family, and we ask that you respect our privacy as we mourn his passing.”
Lady Gabriella spoke about her late husband’s death in an emotional witness statement read out at Gloucestershire Coroner’s Court on 3 December. Wire Informed.
“It appears to me that Tom’s impulsive actions were likely caused by an adverse reaction to the medication he was taking in the last two weeks of his life,” Gabriella reportedly said in her statement.

“(The work) was certainly a challenge for him over the years, but I highly doubt it would have caused him to take his life, and there has been considerable improvement,” the statement said.

Lady Gabriella also reportedly wrote that “the lack of any evidence of predisposition” makes it appear to me that “he had an adverse reaction to the pills which led him to take his life.”
She also reportedly said that Kingston was deeply affected by a friend’s suicide and “it had a devastating impact on other people’s loved ones.”
Lady Gabriella and Princess Michael both attended King Charles’ Christmas lunch on Thursday.
