New Jersey Devils Fans know what they want.
this years, Prudential Center Came for them in a big way.
“We have spent time listening to our fans and are committed to providing a world-class food and beverage experience for everyone who comes through The Rock,” said Dana Seiden, vice president of partnerships at the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center. “
On Monday, September 30, the Newark-based venue – ranked as one of the top five arenas in the world by Pollstar – unveiled its new menu based on what the Devils faithful are looking for.
“We added some new things, we changed some things,” said executive chef Aaron Jacques. “I just wanted to add a little more of the edge, all the different parts of the jersey to it.”
East Back Kitchen is Arena’s newly launched white label hospitality brand and features a number of mouth-watering dishes and delicious beverages that offer an elevated culinary experience that is heavy on the grit, boldness and flavor that makes the Garden State great. Makes.
And, yes, I tried 11 (!) menu items (plus a cocktail to wash it down).
Who were the can’t-miss MVPs? Any dream item pairing? Which was the most recent?
I’m here to answer all your cooking questions and more.
So, whether you’re a Devils fan or want to watch Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Mary J Blige, cody johnson, Jeff Dunham Or for another artist of your choosing in the beloved Newark area, here’s a little information about the latest Prudential Center dining offering.
Funnel Cake Fries
Downtown Diner and Boardwalk, available at Sections 1, 118 and 126.
These lightly powdered dessert fries are simultaneously chewy and soft with a soft, subtle sweetness that will be the perfect alternative to any special spicy dish. They’re somewhat like waffles in fried form (but Nothing like waffle fries) And Served with syrup on the side. Rumor on the street is that there may also be a strawberry topping. If so, we can’t wait to try.
Chicken and Waffles
available in section 107
A nouveau classic beautifully executed. Prudential’s C&W has a nice sweet, spicy and salty taste combination without tipping the scales and affecting the taste buds. Points need to be given to them for adding syrup to the waffles instead of making this dish a dipper. Nice touch, discreet. We see you. Also credit to Mike’s Hot Honey and Chipotle Mayo. There are so many flavors coming together here. However, diners beware. Once you have one of these you won’t be able to stop.
Steak Sandwich
I can’t lie. This was easily the undisputed MVP of tasting and yes, I quietly went back for seconds. The smoky, bold pate LaFrida Sando on oily focaccia is secretly spicy and enhanced by caramelized onions and what I believe was a tart balsamic vinaigrette. Equally satisfying and sophisticated, I already can’t wait to buy another one or two of The Devil’s Games in the near future. Just take my money already.
Devil Dog
As all-American as you can get. However, don’t write this off as a standard dog: The sweet Frank adorned with crunchy slaw and bacon is deceptively complex; By combining the two textures, each bite has a surprising zest and urgency.
Cheesesteak
Available at Boardwalk, Section 126
Served on a hearty hero, the Prudential Center’s cheesesteak has surprising lightness. Thinly sliced Pat LaFrieda ribeye steak and rich cheese with peppers and onions is an excellent complement to its bread-y rolls. I’d argue that it’s the perfect alternative for people suffering from hot dog fatigue.
Cheesesteak Empanada
I would call this snacker a close MVP runner-up. The artfully fried empanada will never inspire you to eat a cheesesteak at Hero again (we’re sorry about the cheesesteak pictured above, we still love you, friend). Full stop, Pat LaFrieda beef inside a crispy casing makes a completely different impression. It’s almost playful? Definitely delicious. Even if you’re a fan of fair season empanadas, I would agree that this is an item not to be missed if you’re at the Prudential Center.
taylor hamm
Downtown Diner, available on Sections 1 and 118
This ain’t no pork roll (even it’s made from scratch shaved pork roll). Like any good Taylor ham straight from the deli, this iconic breakfast staple was clearly made with love by Chef Jacques and has the perfect ratio of meat to egg and cheese.
cheese pizza
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. This simple classic is perfect for any picky eater in your group. Truth be told, we loved the marinara sauce that Chef Jacques used. If Prudential Center wanted to tell the world about their secret ingredient (is it love? I’m sure it is), I would happily buy a jar or three.
Ranch House Burger
Smash by Pat LaFrieda, available on Stream 12 and 111
Flaky challah bun and a sturdy Pat LaFrieda patty? Can’t beat it. The Ranch House Burger, with ranch (duh), pickles, bacon jam, white cheddar and fried onions, is a delight to the max.
Chicken Finger
Hoo boy, these have a kick. They taste angry, like something the devil himself might eat. Generously sized, I guess two fingers would fill any Devils fan. However, for those who are extra hungry, I suggest pairing the Fingers with Funnel Cake Fries (told you there would be a pair earlier). This pairing couldn’t be better than the best food at the Prudential Center.
Chicken Tinga Tacos
Mayo-based chipotle sauce over shredded chicken and cotija cheese? Sign us up. This bland taco is a nice respite from the American food on the menu (apart from the exceptional empanada) and is quite tasty. I didn’t see any during the tasting but I believe a pulled pork option is also available.
Bucanita Cocktail
To top it all off it was this tropical pineapple juice and whiskey drink that hit the spot straight. Like funnel cake fries, a bucanita in your cup should serve as the perfect partner to any Prudential Center Main.
Bonus: The Mighty Quinn is returning to the Prudential Center. Located on Section 4, they’ll be serving honey hen fried chicken, brisket and pulled pork sandwiches and fry-topped Jersey Shore dogs, as well as mac and cheese.
