Like a good boy, I went to my mother’s (Neetu Kapoor) room and I put it on her feet. She looked at it and she started crying. It was one of those filmy moments that I performed”.
In a more recent conversation with Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir Kapoor recounted how Rishi Kapoor had kept him on a tight budget when he was studying at The School of Visual Arts in New York, in an attempt to keep his son grounded. “My father had kept me on a very tight budget. Of course, when I say tight budget, I am still coming from a privileged background, but it was enough to have a McDonald’s dollar menu meal for lunch and dinner.
