Are you a bald man in your 40s with a big nose? You’re more likely to cheat on your partner, according to an AI-generated profile of what a typical altruistic person looks like.
Rosie Maskell, a senior marketing executive at online casino MRQ, who conducted the scandalous study, declared, “We have shed light on the physical traits associated with people who have a tendency to cheat,” Kennedy News reports.
The digital betting marketplace reportedly surveyed 2,000 Britons – many of whom had been duped in the boudoir – to find out what the cheaters had in common.
They then fed the results into an AI-powered image generator to create a “photo-fit” depiction of the average cheater.
The resulting AI-artist’s illustration showed a man in his 40s with blue-grey eyes, little or no hair and frown lines. According to the study, put small lips and big lips and you get the poster child for a person who sleeps with their spouse.
For example, his female counterpart was around fifty years old and had dark hair with a small nose and a medium-sized pout.
Both male and female impostors were portrayed as having thin physiques and boasting “staring eyes”.
“Our research showed that less than half (41%) [of people] are familiar with this painful betrayal, so many people may identify with characteristics of these images,” Maskell said.
However, given the larger sample size perhaps the profile of male cheaters was more accurate.
The study found that men are significantly more likely to cheat than women, with 35% of men admitting to cheating at least once in the past, compared to only 24% of women.
Women are more likely to stay with their adulterous partners after catching them straying. More than a fifth (22%) of people stayed with their unfaithful partner for at least the next two years, while only one in ten (13%) of scorned partners did the same.
Meanwhile, a shocking 2% of people married their lovers after finding out they were sleeping around.
As the portrayal of the typical unfaithful male perhaps proves, the adultery drama does not subside in middle age.
People aged 45-54 are most likely to have been cheated on at least once. More than one in three (35%) admitted to dirty behavior with their partners, while 54% of 45-54 year olds revealed they were either victims or perpetrators of infidelity.
Incidentally, the study found that cheating typically peaks around the fall, so lovebirds should be cautious now — especially if their other half has the above physical characteristics.
Of course, according to marketing executives, the possibility of extramarital robbery is very high.
“Obviously, it’s important to note that these are based on statistical analysis and will not apply to all individuals,” Maskell declared. “People’s behavior is defined by their decisions and actions, not by how they look.”
