Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Part 1 couldn’t impress the fandom to the extent it could have. However, the glimpses of the events that we got to see in the trailer of the second part seem quite promising. So, the possibilities are that the forthcoming film might win the hearts that the first one couldn’t. Several fans are actually excited about Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver and some of them also want to know if it’s based on a book. Well, here’s the answer.
Well, looking at the incredible premise and the interesting characters of Rebel Moon, it does feel like the story is based on a book or a novel. However, contrary to what many fans believe, Rebel Moon is not based on any book. It’s an original work of fiction that came out of the brilliant mind of Zack Snyder.
That being said, it’s quite evident that the franchise is inspired by the amazing universe of Star Wars. In the first part, you can see a character wielding a sword resembling Star Wars’s lightsaber.
Zack Snyder always expressed interest in making an R-rated Star Wars project that didn’t see the light of day. So, Rebel Moon is a way for Zack Snyder to fulfill that dream.
Netflix had immense faith in Zack Snyder’s fictional universe, that’s why the streaming giant greenlit two movies of the franchise at once. Recently, the director has expressed interest in making a total of six Rebel Moon movies, and Netflix can surely throw an unlimited budget for Zack Snyder.
That being said, the first film was underwhelming for most fans. Apart from the visuals, there was nothing extraordinary about the movie. So, for more projects to be approved, Part 2 of Rebel Moon must capture more than decent viewership and should get good reviews. If that happens, we might actually see more Rebel Moon movies in the future.
