Rapper Rich Homie Quan dies at the age of 34

Rich Homie Quan has died at the age of 34.

The platinum-selling rapper died suddenly at his home in Atlanta, according to his family and a spokesperson for the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office, who confirmed the news. TMZ On Thursday.

Rapper Boosie Badazz claimed that the musician had allegedly taken a drug overdose; however, the cause of death has not been confirmed at this time.

The Post has contacted the coroner’s office for comment.

“Just got the news from @RichHomieQuan just got an overdose, just talked to Vuan the other day,” Boosie Posted on Xformerly Twitter, tweeted on Thursday morning.

After this he made several tweets.

“Just talked to you Bra,” Boosie said. “I'll never forget your smile, your way of talking and of course your music.”

He also claimed that the two were working together on something.

“We made some great memories together and that always brings a smile to my face #restupquan We were making some shit up too,” he wrote.

Rich Homie Quan's family told TMZ they are deeply saddened and shocked by his unexpected death.

The rapper's real name was Dequantes Lamar. He burst onto the mainstream hip-hop scene in 2013 with his hit song “Type of Way.” The single peaked at number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Other fan favorites included his 2015 hits “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” and “Ride Out.”

Rich Homie Quan frequently collaborated with Atlanta rappers 2 Chainz and Jacquees and joined Young Thug on the Cash Money Records project, “Rich Gang”.

Tributes started pouring in as soon as news of Rich Homie Quan's death broke.

Adam Grandmaison, better known as Adam22 on the podcast “No Jumper”, shared a photo posted a post for the late rapper and wrote, “RIP Rich Homie Quan” along with a white dove emoji.

Rich Homie Quan was discussed during Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial on Tuesday. ComplexWhen YSL Woody, whose real name is Kenneth Copeland, testified, prosecutors asked him if Young Thug had a problem with the rapper “bringing his gang members to his apartment.”

The question prompted YSL Woody to ask Young Thug directly: “Thug, did you have a falling out with Rich Homie?” to which the incarcerated rapper laughed.
