Rapper Rich Homie Quan’s cause of death revealed

The cause of death of Rich Homie Quan has been revealed.

Rapper DeQuantes Devonte Lamar died from the combined effects of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine and promethazine, according to the medical examiner’s office in Fulton County, Georgia. tmz,

The rap star’s death has been ruled an accident.

Rich Homie Quan died on Thursday, September 5 at the age of 33, the coroner’s office confirmed in a statement to The Post.

“On Thursday, September 5, 2024, the Fulton County Medical Examiner was notified by Grady Memorial Hospital of the death of DeQuantes Devonte Lamar,” the statement said.

The autopsy was scheduled for the next day, Friday, September 6.

The rapper’s family confirmed the news of his passing to the outlet, saying that they are heartbroken and heartbroken by his unexpected death.

According to audio of the 911 call, Quan was at his Atlanta home when his girlfriend found him unresponsive and later foaming at the mouth. tmz,

Quan’s girlfriend told the 911 dispatcher that the rapper fell asleep on the couch Wednesday night and never came to bed with her. On Thursday morning, she found him still sleeping on the sofa.

The musician’s wife left the house to take their son to school, but before leaving she put a blanket over Kwan, thinking he was still sleeping. When she returned, she realized that he still had not moved. She told 911 he was not breathing, had no heartbeat and foam was coming out of the mouth when she turned him over.

Soon after the news of his death broke, rumors started spreading on social media that the rapper had died due to a drug overdose.

Rapper Boosie Badazz was among the first to claim that Quan’s death was drug-related.

“Just got word @RichHomieQuan just OD‼️Just talk to Vuan the other day,” Boosie Posted on x Thursday morning.

“Just talked to you bra,” he continued“Never forget your smile and the way you talk and the music.”

Boosie also claimed that he and Quan were collaborating and preparing a new project.

“We’ve got some great memories together that always bring a smile to my face #restupquan We were also making some s–t,” he said on x,

Rich Homie Quan made his name with his 2013 hit, “Type of Way.” landed a spot on the track Billboard Hot 100 chart.

He has worked with many high-profile Atlanta artists during his career, including 2 Chainz and Jackiez. He was also a part of the Cash Money Records project, “Rich Gang”, with Young Thug.

Bizarrely, Quan was named in Young Thug’s RICO trial just days before his death.
