Arkane has captivated mass audiences with its stunning visuals and emotional depth. Riot announced the animated series on the tenth anniversary of League of Legends, but when the game launched, no one knew how much potential the story had. Furthermore, we never imagined that a screen adaptation of a multiplayer video game would do wonders to this extent.
In 2021, Arcane was one of the most trending topics among cinephiles, and now, finally, we are headed towards the second season. It’s safe to say that things will be the same for the animated series. However, with the excitement also comes a disappointment that Arcane will end with Season 2. While Arcane’s co-creator said that The end of Arcane doesn’t mean the end of League of Legends loreFans are also wondering if Riot is planning something for one of its other most widespread properties, i.e. Gallant.
Valorant animated movie already in the works
In 2023, a rumor surfaced stating that Riot had already started working on an animated film that would feature Valorant characters. The leak also indicated that the film will be released sometime in 2025. Moreover, this news also surprised the fans by saying that its official teaser will be released on October 12, 2024 on YouTube. Well, that didn’t happen. So we can say that the rumor was not completely true.
Since there has been no information from official sources, we can assume that this was nothing more than a rumor. However, this does not mean that Valorant will never hit the screens. Riot has two of the biggest properties under its umbrella.
Since we got Arcane from LoL, we’ll definitely see a dedicated TV show focused on Valorant. In fact, Riot is setting up the perfect lore for Valorant through its cinematic videos.
The lore of Valorant is becoming as big as League of Legends
Just like League of Legends has champions, Valorant has agents that the player controls in the video game. Each agent comes with unique abilities that the player has to master for an incredible playing experience. When Valorant was first released in 2020, there were only eight agents available. But now that the game has been four years since its release, we have been blessed with a total of 26 agents. Given the popularity of multiplayer games I don’t think it will take much time to reach League of Legends levels.
Valorant follows the conflict between Alpha Earth and Omega Earth. The former, being the good guys, must stop their villainous counterparts from Omega Earth from stealing Radianite and causing permanent damage to them. Each agent has their own background and ambitions that would only make sense if they were adapted into a television series like Arcane.
Furthermore, information about the vital substance Radianite needs to be discovered, so Riot should plan to bring a series based on Valorant soon. Additionally, cinematics and music videos released from time to time make fans yearn for the Valorant animated series even more.
