MILWAUKEE — On the final day of their convention, Republicans lined up a star-studded finale centered around former President Donald Trump’s iconic mantra, “Make America Great Again.”
Trump, 78, will be delivering the marquee address at the end of the night that he has teased as a unifying message for the nation in the wake of Saturday’s failed assassination attempt against him.
“I had all prepared an extremely tough speech, really good, all about the corrupt, horrible administration,” Trump previously told The Post. “But I threw it away.”
“I want to try to unite our country.”
The Biden-Harris campaign scoffed at the notion of Trump being a unifier earlier in the day, countering that the “Biden-Harris ticket” is the one actually “focused on uniting the country.”
“Trump and MAGA Republicans don’t have a record of accomplishments to run on, so they use hate, extremism, division at his rallies to fire up his base,” Quentin Fulks, principal deputy campaign manager for the Biden-Harris campaign told reporters earlier in the day.
“Or he just lies about the record that doesn’t exist.”
Former first lady Melania Trump and Ivanka Trump are also expected to attend the convention on Thursday, marking their first public appearance though they are not publicly slated to deliver speeches.
Before Trump takes the stage, the RNC is flexing its muscles with some conservative heavy hitters — both in the literal and figurative sense.
This includes speeches from conservative pundit Tucker Carlson, WWE legend Hulk Hogan, Eric Trump, and Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White just before Trump, per a source familiar.
Trump is expected to take the stage roughly between 10 and 11:30 p.m. ET for the grand finale of the convention, The Post has learned.
Here’s a full breakdown of the planned speeches:
From 6:30 to 7 p.m. ET Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and Rep. Richard Hudson (R-SC) are scheduled to speak.
GOP megadonor Diane Hendricks, Diane Evans, former SBA administrator Linda McMahon, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are slated to give addresses between 7 to 7:30 p.m. ET.
Detroit Pastor Lorenzo Sewell, John Nieporte, Steve & Zach Witkoff are expected to give remarks between 7:30 to 8 p.m. ET.
Next, Trump attorney Alina Habba and Carlson are slated between 8 to 8:30 p.m. ET; Carrie Ruiz, Hogan, and Annette Albright are scheduled for 8:30 to 9 p.m. ET.
In the penultimate slot between 9 to 10 p.m. ET is famed Evangelist Franklin Graham, Eric Trump, and White.
Trump will take the stage after White.
The entire day’s theme will center upon Trump’s plans to “usher in a new golden age for America” and to rekindle “hope and optimism for the future of our country.”
This will be Trump’s first major public speech since the rally in Butler, Pa., when an assassin’s bullet nearly killed him and wounded his right ear, prompting him to wear a white bandage around it.
Despite his brief brush with death over the weekend, Trump has sat in on some of the late-evening speeches at the RNC, drawing much fanfare from the audience.
Trump was officially voted as the Republican nominee on Monday, and his speech on Thursday is another formality in which he is poised to formally accept the mantle.
His VP pick Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) addressed the convention on Wednesday.
