Breed argued that the city has made progress during his six-year tenure and that he is “proud that we have really accomplished a lot” while the California city has faced many problems.

Lurie, who spent millions out of his own pocket, received about 56% support in the ranked-choice system, while Breed was far behind with 44% when he conceded, according to preliminary results. Bloomberg reported.
Lurie, 47, warned that turning around the city “is not going to happen overnight.”
He is heir to the Levi Strauss & Co. fortune through his mother, who married Peter Haas in his childhood. Haas was the former CEO of the textile company started by his great-grandfather Daniel Strauss.
“No matter who wins this election, we face extremely difficult challenges,” he said, according to his campaign website.
