Sarah Dancer, a frequent contestant on the popular US Naked and Afraid reality tv franchiseDied after a car crash in Hawaii this week, police said. She was 34 years old.
Honolulu police told NBC News affiliate hawaii news now That a 59-year-old man was driving eastbound in the Kahala neighborhood on Sunday when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a parked car.
Dancer, a passenger in the vehicle that lost control, was hospitalized and reported to be in critical condition. He died on Tuesday.

The driver of the car in which Dancer was traveling was not wearing a seat belt and is in critical condition. There were two people in the parked car. Police told Hawaii News Now that one woman was in critical condition and one man refused treatment.
He said speed appeared to be a factor in the fatal crash, but not drugs or alcohol.

“Sarah was one of the most courageous people I have ever met,” she wrote. “She was one of those people who saw the world through a child’s eyes, surprised by the things many of us take for granted.”
Lauren called Danser a “fierce survivor” as well as a breast cancer survivor “who maintained an inspiring and positive attitude throughout her treatment.”
“Relax Sarah, I know you’re out there somewhere exploring,” she said.
Island Divers Hawaii, a scuba diving center where Danser worked, also expressed condolences. Facebook account On Thursday.

Danser was born in Castle Rock, Colorado, but lived in Hawaii for more than a decade before her death. According to Hawaii News Now, she lived on a boat in Kewalo Basin, which gave her the freedom to travel.
She has appeared repeatedly on the Discovery Channel’s survival competition, Naked and Afraid, where contestants see how long they can last in the wilderness with no clothes and only a few tools. The dancer was in season 8 (2017) and season 11 (2020) of Naked & Afraid, as well as season 4 (2018, All-Star Edition), season 6 (2020) and season 7 (2021) of Naked & Afraid XL.
The dancer recently competed on The CW’s reality show, Fight to Survive.
