Security camera catches delivery driver throwing grocery bags: ‘Hiring ex-baggage handlers’

Shocking CCTV footage has been shared on social media, showing an Australian delivery driver carelessly dumping several bags of groceries at a customer’s doorstep, damaging the items in the process.

there was home surveillance video Posted on Reddit This week, a third-party delivery driver was shown randomly dumping a Woolworths online order without regard to its contents.

In the clip, the employee quickly takes a photo of the groceries to document that they were “successfully” delivered before leaving the property.

“Woolworths is apparently hiring ex-baggage handlers,” the customer captioned the post.

He further said, “This driver crushed our fruits and broke a two-litre milk carton.”

“I didn’t get his first throw on camera, but based on the bang I heard from three rooms away, it was pretty big.”

“Something like this happens every time we use a partner driver,” the post ended, warning other customers about using the delivery service.

A Woolworths spokesperson told news.com.au: “We are very disappointed to see this customer’s online order being delivered in this manner.

Hundreds of Australians commented on the post, expressing their outrage.

One reply reads, “If that driver thinks it’s acceptable to throw someone’s shopping on the floor like that, he should not be allowed to make deliveries.”

Others questioned what benefit the driver gained from delivering the groceries in such a hurry.

Someone reported, “He saved a full five seconds by throwing them instead of putting them down normally.”

One commenter said, “When some random guy looks dirty, has no shoes and a car full of trash, I think… I pay for Woolworths delivery, I expect Woolworths – anyone Not a third party who doesn’t care.”

On the other hand, some people believed that the driver should be cut some slack and that the poster was responsible for choosing the third-party delivery driver.

“You are at fault. When you choose a delivery slot, it clearly states whether it is handled by a partner company,” one person argued.

“To be honest, that person was probably paid six rupees to deliver that order. Pay s—tty rates, get s—tty service,” another added.

“Hey, it’s raining, and that guy probably had a long day, making less than minimum wage. Cut him some slack or buy your own groceries. This is a first world problem,” said another commenter.

But others responded, “No, if you’re going to do something, do it right. Even the bare minimum is to be expected. This is just carelessness.”

The original poster replied, “This is excusable if you’re a four-year-old, not an adult. We all have bad days, but I’m not allowing him to.

Woolworths works with third-party companies such as Uber Eats to employ delivery drivers known as personal shoppers.

They deliver goods directly from local stores but do not wear Woolworths uniforms.

According to Woolworths’ website, items are “picked, packed and delivered to your door with care” in a matter of minutes by their “friendly” drivers or partner delivery drivers.
