Selena Gomez spends an emotional moment with Miranda Hartgraham norton show,
On Friday’s episode, the 51-year-old British comedian revealed that Gomez’s “My Mind and Me” documentary inspired her to share her health journey.
“When I saw your documentary on Apple [about] Your illness is a struggle, I was wondering, ‘Should I share?’ You know, ‘Is this something I should do?’ Because it feels so vulnerable,'” Hart told Gomez, whose 2022 doc shared her diagnosis of bipolar disorder and her life with lupus.
As soon as Hart broke the news, Gomez, 32, became emotional and started crying.
The singer’s “Emilia Perez” co-star Zoe Saldana and “Doctor Who” actor Nkuti Gatwa also appeared on the talk show and got emotional with Hart’s confession.
“I watched [Gomez’s] Documentary, and I just thought, ‘Absolutely yes.’ And that’s what inspired me to write,” she continued. “So the fact that I’m with you on this show…to have someone witness the pain that I was going through in different circumstances. But we know what a chronic condition is like and it’s always there rumbling, and I know very distinctly what that’s like.
The “Miranda” actress explained that although she didn’t have the same medical conditions and she wasn’t a pop star playing in the same fields as Gomez, she had a career that landed her in high-profile productions.
Hart said, “I was backstage at the BBC, you were trying to go, I wasn’t sure whether to go or not.” “It’s amazing and I think she’s incredible.”
The comedian then teased: “Come back to me now.”
Hart recently released her latest memoir, “I’m not completely honest with youWhich, according to the book’s official summary, is “full of hard-won wisdom and gentle truths”.
The description reads, “Basically, it’s been an unexpectedly difficult decade for me – it’s had surprising joys, but also deep revelations and challenging ups and downs.” “I will be honest about them, because what I discovered in the hard times was mine, what I call treasure.”
In March, Gomez took some time to reflect on her six-part documentary at a SXSW panel, telling the audience, “There were a lot of people who cared about me more than I cared about who I really wanted. Do the work I was doing.” Am not ready for. I had the hardest time, and I had to do it in my own time.
The Disney Channel alum said she feels she’s “in a much better place now.”
