With his tall stature and blond good looks, Channel 7 personality Dr Chris Brown draws attention wherever he goes — but not always for the right reasons.
Appearing on Triple M’s Mick and MG in the Morning radio show, Chris recounted a story about a recent trip to Japan, which he’d probably rather forget.

“It may not surprise you to learn that I do tend to stand out a little bit on the streets of Tokyo,” he began, to loud guffaws from Mick Molloy.
“Um, six foot five, blond hair, and on the subway especially.
“But, I don’t know if you know, in Japan you can buy beers absolutely anywhere — vending machines on the streets, in the subway when you’re just queueing for a train, and so I got involved in this.
“I bought a can of Asahi, nice Japanese beer, and was carrying it in my bag, just over my shoulder.”
As he got into a crowded train carriage and the journey got underway, he started to feel a “cold trickle” down his leg.
“I realised very quickly that the beer I’d bought had exploded in my bag,” he said.
“And I now have a rapidly growing wet patch across my groin, running from my bag to my groin and down my leg, and a highly suspicious amber fluid going across a crowded train carriage,” he continued, to much laughter in the studio.
“If I couldn’t stand out any more, I found a way.”
Chris added that, because Japanese people are so polite, nobody said a word.
But it didn’t stop the “endless gazing” at him as the mortifying moment unfolded.
“They’re connecting the dots from the trickle along the carriage back up my leg and up to my very wet body,” Chris said.
“Oh wow, oh well I hope you were filming that,” Mick Molloy chuckled.
“By the way, that’s how I leave the station every day, on a train, with a wet patch, talking to myself,” he joked.
Chris replied: “Well, I tell you what, if you want to clear some space, it’s a great way to do it, let me tell you.”
Chris Brown joins Seven
Last year it was announced that Chris was joining Seven, the network where his career originally took off thanks to his appearances on Harry’s Practice.
“We are very pleased to welcome Chris back to Seven,” said Seven West Media CEO James Warburton, when the news was announced.
“It’s been too long.
“Chris is one of the most popular and recognised people on Australian TV, bringing warmth, intelligence and a great sense of humour to everything he does.
“We can’t wait to have him on board.”
After his first gig with the network — co-hosting the 2023 Logies red carpet coverage with Sonia Kruger — it was announced that Chris would helm two new shows in 2024.
One will be an animal adventure show and another a renovation competition series called Dream Home.
“To be able to bring my world of animals to life in an original, adventurous and breathtaking way truly excites me,” Chris said when the shows were announced last year.
“I can’t wait for the world’s wildlife, and the search for Australia’s best Dream Home, to land in our lounge rooms in 2024.”
Both shows will be available to watch on Seven and 7plus.
