A Georgia Sheriff’s Department clearing a highway in Davisboro after Hurricane Helene found a large stash of drugs and has cordially invited its rightful owner to take it back.
“While responding to a tornado in Davisboro last week, deputies found these items in a section of Highway 231 near the Washington State Prison,” the Washington County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a sarcasm-filled Facebook post.
“If you would like to claim ownership of these packages, please visit us at 733 Kaolin Road, Sandersville. Georgia.”
The office shared photos of the seizures, which included several large bags of marijuana, commercially packaged THC-infused edibles and several bottles of prescription drugs.
It was not immediately known whether the owners were taking the office up on their offer.
