A top entertainment reporter revealed in a recently released podcast who he considers the most rude — or perhaps the person least considerate of reporters’ time.
Longtime reporter Nelson Aspen details a terrifying conversation he had with “Fast & Furious” superstar Vin Diesel during an event. Interview on “Flossom Talk” on Tuesday—hosted by fellow entertainment reporter Kjersti Fla—who said Diesel made her wait for hours before they could chat.
“Last time I talked to you [on the podcast] About latency – long-term latency, which was a problem with Vin Diesel, Aspen told Fla on the YouTube talk show.
Fala immediately responded, saying that Diesel’s name was the first name that “popped” into his mind as well when he thought of celebrities who are known for keeping reporters waiting.
“It was ridiculous. I mean, making it wait not just ten minutes or an hour, but two hours, five hours, seven hours, I mean, that would be ridiculous,” Aspen said.
The actor “pulled the kid card” on why he was delaying but Aspen questioned the authenticity of the action star’s claims.
Aspen complained, “Instead of keeping all the crew, all the reporters waiting why didn’t you call us and there’s that money.” “This is money Vin Diesel was not paying. That’s money the studio was paying.
Due to the delay, journalists missed their flights and had to rebook to get back home.
Fla also shared his story about Diesel not arriving on time at a press event for the promotion “F9: The Fast Says” at Universal Studios. During the COVID-19 pandemic – when journalists had to wait wearing masks.
“He was about six hours late and then we were told, like, do you know what he did? He took his kids on all the trips,” Fla said.
Diesel isn’t the only celebrity who is often late to meet the press. The veteran reporter claimed that “SexyBack” singer Justin Timberlake doesn’t even follow the watch.
“We went [Las] Vegas and it was one of those things. Late, late, late, late. “In the end we had to choose: We could either go because we had flights to catch or we would have to arrange to stay another day,” Espen said.
Timberlake was Recently criticized by fans On October 8, he had to postpone his show in Newark, New Jersey minutes before doors opened because he suffered an “injury” that prevented him from performing.
“Weeds” actress Mary Louise Parker also once kept a reporter waiting but was so apologetic that Aspen “believed” she was being honest about the delay.
Even “The Hunger Games” actor Woody Harrelson kept reporters waiting for half an hour because he had eaten lunch and didn’t want to be on camera with an unwashed mouth, Aspen quipped.
“He didn’t want to start the interview until after lunch until he’d brushed his teeth. It was like half an hour. Someone had to go out and get organic toothbrushes because they, you know, only had plastic ones. But hey, he is a man with his convictions. “I respected that,” Aspen said.
