The cast of Saturday Night Live jokingly expressed their allegiance to newly elected president donald trump And claimed that all of them voted for him without thinking for the first time after Tuesday’s historic election.
The skit began with the cast discussing seriously how Trump’s victory over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris would be “shocking” and “terrifying” for many viewers of the liberal-leaning show.
He then said Trump might seek “retaliation” against political opponents, leading longtime cast member Kenan Thompson to say, “We at SNL would like to say to Donald Trump, we’ve always been there for you.”
“We never wavered in our support of you, even when others doubted you,” Bowen Yang said sarcastically, followed by each of the main cast members talking about it. Of how much they love, and have always loved, the newly elected President.
“Weekend Update” anchor Colin Jost then said that fellow anchor Michael Che is the only person against Trump.
He said, “I hate how the lame media, Michael Che, spins this to make you look stupid.”
Dana Carvey – who previously appeared as President Joe Biden – took the stage portraying Elon Musk.
Comedian Bill Burr hosted the late-night show and delivered an opening comedy monologue in which he roasted both Harris and Trump.
