The 23-year-old Disney actor issued a groan-inducing apology on his Instagram late Thursday night — just days after he wished the president-elect’s supporters would “never find peace.”
“I let my emotions get the best of me,” Ziegler wrote.
“Hate and anger have caused us to move further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry that I contributed to the negative discussion.”
She added, “This week has been emotional for many of us, but I firmly believe that everyone has the right to their own opinion, even if it differs from mine.”
“I am committed to making a positive contribution to a better tomorrow.”
