Streetwear clothing brand Staple Pigeon is launching its first permanent US store at 21 Mercer St. in Soho. The tenant was repped in the 4,500 square-foot lease by Cushman & Wakefield’s Alan Schmerzler, Catherine Merck and Eric Hazen.
Ripco’s Richard Skulnik acted for landlord Premier Equities.
Staple Pigeon was founded by Jeff Staple in 1997.
According to Schmerzler, the choice of 21 Mercer “was strongly influenced by the edginess of the location, the excellent condition of the store and the heritage of the address,” which was once a Nike store.
Modern luxury jewelry brand Cadar is coming to 875 Washington St. in the Meatpacking District. The 4,000 square-foot lease for Cadar’s first Manhattan boutique was arranged by Retail by MONA, which previously brought Breitling and Studs to the restored, five-story 1887 building.
MONA is the agent for the landlords, RFR Holdings and Raycliff Capital.
MONA founder/CEO Brandon Singer said, “Cadar is in the prime palce to attract their fashion-forward clientele.”
