Just centimeters below the foundation of a shocked Peter Wittenberg's home lay a three-foot stone bearing the image of a man with a cross in front of his body.

Specifically, experts are linking it to Bishop Otto van Bamberg, who is credited with bringing Christianity to the region now known as Pomerania in 1124, exactly 900 years ago.
Jantzen adds that the town “may also have played a role in the missionary travels of Otto von Bamberg.”
Even if it wasn’t Bamberg, any portrayal of a follower of Christ at that time has substance.
According to the team of researchers behind the discovery, this amazing stone was probably brought to Klotzow in the 1800s. Its true origin – there are only five like it in the region – remains a mystery.
“We will now try to find out more about the stone's original location,” Jantzen said.
