Stunning fall getaway just an hour from New York City

Located in New Windsor, NY, an hour’s drive from the George Washington Bridge, the Storm King Art Center is one of the largest and most famous outdoor sculpture parks in the country. It showcases the works of more than 150 artists spread across more than 500 acres of lush fields and forests in the Hudson Valley, and the fall foliage season is at its peak this weekend, making it a great time to visit . Artists such as Alexander Calder and Maya Lin have brought it international recognition. Founded in 1960 by Star Expansion Company co-owners Ralph E. Ogden and H. Peter Stern, it was initially a Hudson River School painting museum before expanding its scope to include outdoor sculpture. It successfully combines art and its natural surroundings to showcase the beauty of Orange County. Part of the land was originally a gravel mine that supported the construction of the New York Thruway.
