Thursday morning, matt shirvington Barr saw a table covered with a red sheet, under which a small gift was visible.
“Nate got a special delivery this morning. This is a mysterious gift before Christmas. Well, it’s a mystery to him but not to me. I know what’s underneath it,” Shirvo said, smiling.
“Think it’s time to see what’s at the bottom of Santa’s sack now?” Barr replied.
Nat lifted the sheet and saw a man beneath it, who let out a joyful scream.
“What is that?” Barr said.
“It’s a human being!” Shirvo replied.
Alexei then demonstrated his incredible flexibility with a series of dramatic moves on the table.
“Have you got cramps? No, he has not had any cramps. Oh my God, it’s amazing,” Barr said, clearly amazed.
Nate and Shirvo then talked to the gymnast.
“Alexey, are there bones in your body?” Shirvo asked.
He joked, “Okay, I have bones but I leave them at home before I come to work.”
“How early in your life did you figure out that you could do this?” Barr asked.
“I started when I was four years old. Now I am approaching 30. I asked my parents to take me to a circus show and I fell in love with the circus and now I’m doing it,” Alexey said.
“does it hurt?” Shirvo asked.
“No, it is not like that. I’ve been doing it for a very long time and I’ve been training for hours a day since I was a kid,” he said.
“How do you feel about being Nate’s Christmas present?” Shirvo asked.
“It’s a pleasure for me – thank you for having me,” Alexey said.
