The creep accused of trying to rape a Central Park sunbather in broad-daylight is set to be arraigned on Wednesday, sources said.
Jermaine Longmire, 43, was already in police custody for allegedly groping a woman inside the West 103 Street and Central Park subway station on June 15, according to sources.
He was expected to be transported from Rikers Island to a Manhattan court on an attempted rape charge for a disturbing June 24 attack, where he allegedly came out of nowhere and pounced on an unsuspecting woman as she soaked in the sun on West 104th Street and West Drive, NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell told reporters last week.
“She is sunbathing on a nice day in Central Park,” Chell said.
“She sees a male coming towards her exposing himself. She gets up, screams and [starts] to run,” he added.
Moments later, Longmire allegedly tackled her from behind and tried to get on top of her.
The brave 21-year-old victim “valiantly fought him off a second time,” Chell said.
