Taylor Swift’s Debut Album Returns To Its All-Time Peak

Taylor Swift is currently one of the bestselling artists in the world, especially when it comes to albums. While most musicians focus on streaming success to keep their projects on the charts, Swift doesn’t need to. Her following already consumes her music on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, but they also love to buy almost everything she’s ever released.

The singer-songwriter’s self-titled debut album is still popular, even after so many years and many subsequent project releases. This week, the set returns to its previously-set peak on the U.K.’s Official Albums Sales chart, which ranks the bestselling titles in the country.

Taylor Swift–the full-length–appears at No. 48 on the Official Albums Sales ranking this frame. The album lifts two spaces to return to its loftiest placement on the tally.

The Grammy winner’s introductory project reached No. 48 for the first time just last year. In August 2023, Taylor Swift jumped from No. 60 to its new high point, and now it’s back in that same position once again.

Taylor Swift arrived on the Official Albums Sales chart in April 2022. The debut full-length spent just one week at No. 93 before falling away. It returned in 2023, and since then, it has disappeared from, and then reappeared on, the sales list from time to time.

The future superstar dropped Taylor Swift in 2006. The set helped make her a household name in the U.S., but it wasn’t quite as commercially successful in other countries. In the U.K., the title has only climbed as high as No. 81, and it’s only spent three frames anywhere on the ranking of the most-consumed albums in the country.

Taylor Swift is one of a dozen projects from the superstar that appears on the Official Albums Sales chart this week. Despite it being her oldest release, it’s not Swift’s lowest-ranking placement on the roster this frame. Two other releases from the singer–Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) (No. 76) and 1989 (No. 86)–appear further down.
