An 18-year-old woman was seriously injured after a failed attempt at subway surfing in Harlem during the Wednesday evening rush hour, law enforcement sources said.
Sources said on Thursday that eyewitnesses saw the girl trying to climb on top of the southbound 2 train at around 6 pm, after which she fell on the tracks.
She was found in the tunnel between the West 145th and 135th Street stations with serious injuries to her right arm and right leg, authorities said.
The teen was taken to Harlem Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
This dangerous stunt comes just weeks after 13-year-old Crystal Romero was killed She and her 14-year-old friend were seriously injured when they fell from the southbound No. 7 train at Corona’s 111th Street station, police said.
The accident follows a similar accident that killed a 13-year-old boy Adolfo Sorzano, who died while surfing the subway at the Forest Avenue station In Ridgewood, Queens.
The MTA told The Post this week that it Social media companies have been pushed To remove over 10,900 subway-surfing-related posts – but couldn’t tell how many clips had actually been removed.
MTA President and CEO Janno Lieber previously said the companies are “mostly compliant” in removing hazardous material.
