Burke told police he picked up Williams while driving for Lyft in Frisco, Texas, on Monday evening.

“The rider took a knife to Dilawar’s throat and slit his throat. He did it multiple times,” Burke’s friend Dustin Tovey told Fox 4.
“Dilavar placed his hands right in front of the knife and asked the rider, ‘Hey, whatever you want. Leave me alone.’ And then there was a wire to put around his neck. And Dilawar also reached. And he had extensive injuries on his fingers and neck because he was stabbed multiple times,” Tovi added.
Frisco police said Williams stole Burke’s Toyota Camry and abandoned it in the apartment building parking lot. A nearby woman assisted Burke and called 911 to report the incident.

Police said Williams crashed and attempted to flee on foot but was eventually arrested.
Burke moved to Texas from Türkiye last year and sends money back home to his parents.
Tovey said, “He’s someone who works really hard, and it’s really sad to see what happened to him.” “Nobody deserves this, especially Dilawar, because he works so hard.”
