The Boys Season 4 Episode 7 Recap and Ending Explained


The Boys Season 4 Episode 7 has brought us some really cool revelations and was filled with quite interesting details. This episode introduced us to a new supe and has done a great job in setting up the Season finale of The Boys with quite a cliffhanger at the ending. However, there is a whole week ahead of us before the season finale drops and there is a high probability that some details about episode 7 might slip off of our minds. So, here, I bring you The Boys Season 4 Episode 7 recap along with an explanation for the ending.

A New Shapeshifting Supe Was Introduced

  • While Butcher, Annie, and Hughie are looking at the Secret Service documents, they discover a woman trapped in a wardrobe.
  • As they free her, she attacks them and it turns out that she is a shapeshifting supe.
  • By the end of episode 7, we see that the shapeshifting supe has held Annie captive and taken her form to infiltrate The Boys.

Butcher Frees Frenchie From Prison

  • Frenchie is freed from the prison by Butcher with the help of Grace, the CIA agent who has helped him keep Ryan safe from Homelander in the previous season.
  • Butcher freed him so he could help Sameer reverse engineer the supe-killing virus and make it stronger.
  • However, Sameer deceives Kimiko and Frenchie and injects Kimiko with the virus forcing Frenchie to amputate her leg

The Reason Why Kimiko Cannot Talk Was Revealed

  • Kimiko tells Frenchie that the reason why she cannot talk is not the trauma of watching her parents being killed.
  • She reveals that when she was captive at Shining Light, Kimiko had to fight to death without making a sound with other girls and she killed multiple girls for her survival.
  • The trauma of killing those girls is the reason why Kimiko cannot talk.

Homelander Kills Off Webweaver

  • Webweaver was captured as the primary suspect of being the leak.
  • Webweaver tells Homelander that he told things to Butcher but he was not the lead.
  • However, Homelander does not believe him and kills Webweaver by ripping him in half.

The Deep Kills Ambrosius, the Octopus

  • The Deep and Ambrosius the Octopus get into a fight.
  • Ambrosius finds out that The Deep has been cheating on her with Sister Sage and confronts him for it.
  • The Deep in a fit of rage breaks her water tanks and she eventually dies of suffocation.

A-Train Openly Joins The Boys

  • Homelander sent The Deep and Black Noir to kill off The Boys
  • However just when he was about to kill Annie, A-Train showed up and saved her life.
  • He then helped Mother’s Milk, Butcher, and Annie fight The Deep and Black Noir successfully making the two supes retreat. We also saw the new Black Noir fly for the first time, potentially setting up the finale for a comic-accurate ending.

The Boys Season 4 Episode 7 Ending Explained

  • By the end of The Boys Season 4 Episode 7, we see Annie behave a bit strangely.
  • Her strange behavior was confirmed when she stole the laptop and hard drive containing all the dirt of Homelander and Vought.
  • It is revealed to us that the shapeshifter has kept Annie captive in a basement and has taken her form to steal that laptop and hard drive.

As the episode comes to an end, we hear footsteps approaching Annie who is trying to free herself from captivity. Even though it is not revealed who it is, there is a high probability that it is Sister Sage who is still executing her plan even after being captured.
