The Boys Season 4 is bringing us absolute cinema every week with a new episode. Even though this season is way more unhinged than any other season of The Boys, it is truly carrying the story in a way you would expect The Boys to. However, The Boys Season 4 Episode 7 might have just set us up with a comic-accurate ending with Black Noir. Here’s how.
Spoiler Warning:
This article contains major spoilers for The Boys Season 4 as well as The Boys Comics.
How Does The Boys Comic End
The Boys Comics ended with the death of Homelander. Now you might think that it happened because of the Supe killing virus but that is not the case in the slightest. In the comics, Homelander planned a coup to overthrow the government of the United States and take charge of the country himself. He took out the president and was chilling in the Oval Office when Butcher showed up armed with a crowbar.
As they both were going to engage in combat, Black Noir showed up unmasking himself, and to both their surprise, Black Noir was an exact copy of Homelander. Black Noir explained that Vought created him as a clone of Homelander to kill him if he ever goes out of control.
However, Black Noir cannot wait to kill Homelander so he commits horrendous crimes including the sexual assault of Butcher’s wife dressed as Homelander and takes photographs of himself. Since there was photographic evidence of the crimes and Homelander could not recall committing any of these crimes he started believing that he was losing his mind and eventually, he did.
Homelander was enraged by this and engaged in combat with Black Noir. However, he was killed by Black Noir. Since Black Noir has severely injured himself, Butcher used his Crowbar to quite literally pop his brains out killing Black Noir as well.
New Black Noir’s Powers Could Lead to a Comic-Accurate Ending
So, now that I have given you guys a background of the source material, let’s move to the show. The Boys Season 4 has brought in a new Black Noir to replace the original one killed by Homelander. The show reveals to us that this new Back Noir can fly. Strangely enough, we were never told the name of this guy as well. In The Boys Season 4 episode 7, we see that when Butcher is fighting Black Noir, he suddenly starts flying, and when Mother’s Milk shoots him with an M134 Minigun, Black Noir receives no damage at all so he is invincible as well.
I have a feeling that this new Black Noir could be the clone created by Vought when they realized Homemlander was getting out of control as he killed the original Black Noir. They might twist the origin of this clone a bit since The Boys has never really followed the same structure of the comics.
With Homelander planning to overthrow the government and everything, it seems that Season 5 might just give us an ending pretty close to what we have seen in the comics. So let’s wait and see what The Boys has in store for us and till then, Stay tuned with us for further updates!
