The Boys Season 5 is probably one of the most loved series finales ever. season 4 is overThere's been a lot of discussion about how the story will unfold in The Boys season 5. However, a recent interview with Eric Kripke surfaced that points to a possible comic-accurate ending. Even if it's not exactly like the comics, it could be similar and what Kripke said makes this even more clear.
Eric Kripke confirms several possible deaths in The Boys season 5
One of the interviews given by Eric Kripke Total Movies He has hinted at several deaths that could be a part of The Boys Season 5. He expressed the pressure he feels while working on this project, including people's hopes and expectations. In his statement, he said-
“There's probably going to be a lot of deaths… A lot of series finales suck… I feel a lot of pressure to end it well… If we can stick the landing people will say, 'It was a great show'… But if we shit the bed, people will say, 'Oh, it was a good show, but then they shit the bed,' there's no guarantee who's going to survive because you don't have to keep them around for another season… We can have really shocking, big things happening all the time”
That being said, there are a lot of possibilities as to who might live and who might die, but wait, with this statement, Eric Kripke could have given us a hint as to how this series might end on a comic-accurate note. Let me explain how.
The Boys comic ends with lots of deaths
One thing I love about The Boys is how true it is to its source material. Whether it's absurdity or gore, the show doesn't shy away from showing us the worst possible things in the best possible ways. So far, The Boys has followed the same basic story but changed some elements and used its artistic freedom with how the story is presented on screen.
The end of The Boys comic We are shown the death of all the main characters except Hughie. Homelander dies and Black Noir kills him and in turn, Black Noir is killed by Butcher. Butcher then has a knife in his hand. The virus that kills all super into the world and when the other members of The Boys try to stop him, he kills Frenchie, The Woman (Kimiko), and Mother's Milk. By the end of the story, Butcher is killed by none other than Hughie. That's a lot of deaths, really, but how is the live-action series building toward the same ending?
The Butcher has lost his mind, has venom-like powers, and craves blood
At the end of The Boys season 4, we see Butcher watch Ryan kill Grace. What little faith he had left in superheroes erodes with every step Ryan takes back to Homelander. He is also trying to save his sensitive cancer aka. Joe Kessler He is ready to commit mass murder on Superman. He goes to the Boys' safe house and as soon as he sees Victoria Newman, The Butcher Uses His Powers and kills Victoria, splitting her in two. He then takes the super-killing virus and sets off on his way to rid the world of supers forever.
Although this is not the same thing that happened in the comics, it is on the same path of turning Butcher into a killing machine for Supes. Also, all the members of the Boys except Starlight have been captured by Vought, so no one can stand in his way. However, in the comics, Homelander is killed by his clone created by Vought and it seems like the story is going the same way.
The new Black Noir could be a clone of Homelander
We all know that Homelander killed Black Noir in The Boys Season 3. However, in The Boys Season 4, A new Black Noir was brought back with someone new in the suit. However, we don't know where he's from, or what his name is, and beyond that, we have no idea about the extent of his powers.
In the final few episodes of The Boys season 4, we saw what happened when A-Train, Butcher, and Starlight fought against The Deep and Black Noir, and it was revealed that Black Noir can fly Also. This could be a subtle hint that he is Homelander's clone and is on a mission to eliminate him when needed. The mystery surrounding this new character is something that could lead to Homelander's comic-accurate death.
The exact ending of the comic is being decided
The way things were going in The Boys Season 4, we all had doubts about the direction of The Boys Season 5. The story and plot seemed like we would get a great story. Comic-accurate endingHowever, with Eric Kripke's new statement and the hints mentioned above, we could see the entire team of The Boys die at the hands of Butcher and Butcher could be killed by the most non-violent of them all, Hughie.
This statement has increased my excitement even more for the upcoming The Boys Season 5, so let’s wait and see what happens in the future till then, stay tuned for further updates!
