The reason this Netflix show is extra special for comedy fans is because it marks the long-awaited reunion between popular comedians Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover. Leading the show is Kapil Sharma, the host of The Great Indian Kapil Show. As one of the richest TV actors in India, Kapil Sharma is taking home a staggering Rs 26 crore for the first five episodes of the comedy show, according to News18, DNA India, and Zee Hindustan. This means that he’s making a little over Rs 5 crore per episode.
Sunil Grover is reportedly charging Rs 25 lakh per episode. When compared, Kapil Sharma is getting paid 20 times more than Sunil Grover for The Great Indian Kapil Show. For the unversed, Sharma and Grover had a major fallout 7 years ago, which led to Grover’s subsequent walkout from Comedy Nights with Kapil. Less than a decade later, the two are thicker than thieves as evidenced by The Great Indian Kapil Show.
As for the other cast members of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Archana Puran Singh and Krushna Abhishek are making Rs 10 lakh per episode, while Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur are being paid Rs 7 lakh and Rs 6 lakh for each episode, respectively.
Some of the popular guests who have appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show include Ranbir Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh, Vicky Kaushal, and Aamir Khan, amongst others. The next episode will feature the Deol siblings — Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, both of whom had a terrific 2023 with the blockbuster success of Gadar 2 and Animal.
As for Kapil Sharma, he was last seen in Crew alongside Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh. Kapil took home between Rs 40 lakh to Rs 50 lakh for his special appearance in the heist comedy movie.
