The most expensive movie scene in the history of Indian cinema cost a whopping Rs 25 crore; and it’s not in Jawan, Kalki 2898 AD or RRR


The most expensive movie scene in Indian cinema costs a whopping Rs 25 crore. This is hardly surprising. When it comes to big-ticket films, no expense is spared by the makers to deliver a satisfying cinematic experience. Some of the biggest blockbuster movies in recent years have been mounted on staggering production budgets like the Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan-starrer Kalki 2898 AD that was made with a Rs 600 crore budget, the Jr NTR and Ram Charan starring RRR (at Rs 550 crore) and the Shah Rukh Khan-led Jawan (atRs 300 crore), to name a few. However, the title of the most expensive movie scene in Indian cinema is reserved for an upcoming film that’s slated to release on November 1, 2024.

The most expensive movie scene in Indian cinema is the grand climax sequence in Singham Again. The Rohit Shetty-directorial is being mounted on a budget of Rs 250 crore and 10 per cent of the production cost, which rounds up to Rs 25 crore, has been allocated to the film’s climax, according to DNA India and Asianet News.

Singham Again’s climax scene will feature Ajay Devgn as DCP Bajirao Singham, Ranveer Singh as ACP Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba and Akshay Kumar as DCP Veer Sooryavanshi as they jointly fight the main villain Danger Lanka (Arjun Kapoor). According to DNA India, the action sequence was shot in Hyderabad, and will also feature Tiger Shroff as ACP Satya, Deepika Padukone as ACP Shakti Shetty and Kareena Kapoor Khan as Avni Kamat Singham.

If you’re curious about the most expensive movie scene in the world, it’s the Battle Of Borodino scene in the 1967 classic, War and Peace. According to Looper, the hour-long sequence in the movie (with a six-and-a-half-hour runtime) is estimated to have cost a staggering $100 million (Rs 839 crore) in today’s currency.

Meanwhile, Singham Again marks the fifth instalment in Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe and is slated for a Diwali 2024 release. The action movie will be clashing with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which stars Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Triptii Dimri and Madhuri Dixit.
