Victor sees a purpose with Oz and turns his life around
Victor had the perfect opportunity to escape a life of crime. Graciela had bought him a ticket to leave Gotham and was waiting for him to board the bus. However, even though Victor leaves Oz’s club, and drives towards the bus station, he never gets out of the car and arrives at the Knight’s in time to save Oz from being killed by one of Maronis’ goons. Goes back to the club.
The flood caused by the Riddler wiped out Victor’s entire life, leaving him without any purpose. From the day he met Penguin, he gave Victor a job and a purpose. Victor must have thought he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be a part of something big. Additionally, living with Oz has taught him a lot about life and since Victor has no father figure in his life, he has begun to look up to the penguins. Now, he has new ambitions that require him to forget his past and start afresh.
Not boarding the bus with Graciela also represents that Victor is going down the path of no return and choosing a life of crime for himself. So, from now on, we will get to see not a skeptical winner but a winner dedicated to the penguins. So let’s wait until the next episode to find out what happens next!
