Jackie O Henderson is 49 today — and, for her last birthday before she turns 50, she’s decided to celebrate in style.
The radio host has revealed she hasn’t enjoyed marking previous birthdays, mainly because she doesn’t like organising parties.
But for the occasion of her 49th, she has invited her nearest and dearest onto a boat, set to travel around Sydney Harbour for a night of festivities.

On The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Henderson explained why she hadn’t enjoyed celebrating her birthday in the past.
“I just feel like every single year of my life, not even just the last few years, I’ve ignored birthdays and never wanted to do a party,” she told her team.
“I just don’t like doing it.
“And I thought ‘You know what? Why not! Like, who cares how old you are or whether it’s a milestone or not, I’m going to throw a big party on a boat’.”
Henderson says it will be the first time she has thrown a party for herself.
“I feel like this year, I just want to live life, you know?” she went on.
“I feel like last year I did a lot of learning about myself and that sounds so clichéd… but I actually have, and now this is the year to reap the rewards.
“It’ll be a fun year. I want to make it as fun as possible!”
And what might she be wearing for the grand occasion?
“I actually don’t know. I’m in two minds,” she said.
“Do I dress up or just wear a sun dress and get in the water?”
For the actual day, January 31, Henderson is enjoying time with a friend before an early dinner and watching British singer Raye perform.
“I’m so excited…I think she’s amazing. I love her music,” she said.
As of 9am on her birthday, Henderson had received messages from friends including Kyle Sandilands’ brother, Chris, as well as Kylie Clarke.
She also revealed that her favourite type of gift is “thoughtful”.
“Like I don’t care if you spend $5, whatever, I love that!”
