The actor, who appeared alongside Bruce Willis in 1999 thriller The Sixth Sense when he was just 10 years old, said he still keeps in touch with his elder co-star's family, despite Willis' struggles with dementia.
Haley Joel Osment rose to global fame when he starred in this hit film, which also starred Toni Collette.
On Thursday, the now 36-year-old actor appeared on The Morning Show where he reflected on his role as Cole Sear, a boy who can see and talk to dead people.

“It was an honor and a privilege to work with Tony,” Osment said.
“I was 10 when I made that movie, and I think she was only 25 or 26, playing this incredibly intense and complex role.”
Reflecting on the famous car scene in which Cole explains to his onscreen mother that he is talking to his dead grandmother, Osment said it was a challenge.
“Working with us in the car was one of the most challenging acting experiences of my life,” he said.
“It's a very complex scene that we both saw. It's a really fond memory.”
He said that despite Bruce Willis's struggle with dementia, he remains in touch with his family.
“I know his daughters, and I know that, despite what they're going through, they have a really wonderful community around them,” Osment said of Willis.
“I feel very fortunate that I got to work with him … I think Bruce will always be the epitome of a movie star in my mind.”
Osment has appeared in Forrest Grump in 1994, Pay It Forward in 2000, and A.I. Artificial Intelligence in 2001, and as an adult, he's built a solid career in film and TV.
He's currently starring alongside Channing Tatum in the Zoe Kravitz-directed psychological thriller Blink Twice and he's spilled a few secrets.
“Channing Tatum plays Slater King, a tech magnate who's having a falling out with the media and is trying to rehabilitate his public image,” Osment said.
“He meets these two women at a party and invites them back to his private island. That's when the ground is pulled out from under the feet of the audience and the participants in the film.”
Osment said he enjoyed working with Kravitz, the daughter of rock star Lenny and actress Lisa Bonet, on his directorial debut.
“Making it with Zoe Kravitz was an amazing experience. We all lived together in the jungle of the Yucatan Peninsula (in Mexico) for about two months.”
