Peacock, not surprisingly, has renewed the Emmy Award-winning reality competition series The Traitors for two additional seasons. Hosted by actor Alan Cumming, who brings a new flavor to the traditional reality hosting chair, The Traitors is an Americanized version of the Dutch series De Verraders featuring a cast of characters living in a grand Scottish castle who are tasked with uncovering which of the three guests are traitors plotting to murder their fellow contestants (known as “faithfuls”). The last individual standing wins $250,000.

The Traitors has been nominated for four Emmy Awards for its second season: Outstanding Reality Competition Program, and Outstanding Host, Directing and Cinematography for a Reality or Reality Competition Program. It was recently honored by The Television Critics Association (TCA) as the best reality program on TV.
Debuting on Peacock in 2023, The Traitors has given the streaming service a major shot of adrenaline, both via the critics and the audience base. The sophomore season opener was the top unscripted series in the United States across all platforms during launch week.
Featuring a combination predominately of former Survivor, Big Brother, The Bachelor/The Bachelorette and The Real Housewives franchise competors, the upcoming third season will launch in early 2025. The tie to The Real Housewives and other Bravo series, of course, is the connection of the cable network to its corporate streaming cousin Peacock.
