“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin criticized “uneducated white women” for Donald Trump’s victory and said she was concerned about “internment camps” during a dying episode of the program on Wednesday.
Hostin said, “I am deeply troubled … Now we know he will have absolute power.”
Hostin, dressed in all black, said Donald Trump’s historic victory has her worried about her daughter, who now has “fewer civil rights” than she does.
“I remember my father telling me many years ago that I was the first in his family to enjoy full civil rights and I have fewer civil rights now than when he told me this.”
The former prosecutor further said that America’s healthcare system is now at risk and that Trump’s victory makes him worried about “mass deportations and internment camps.”
“I think [Trump’s victory] It has nothing to do with policy, I think it was a referendum on cultural outrage in this country.
Hostin blamed white women and Latino men for Trump’s victory, and claimed that the vice president ran a “flawless campaign.”
“Black women tried to save this country again last night… What we don’t have are white women, who voted for Donald Trump about 52 percent of the time — uneducated white women from my understanding. You really have Latino men voting for him more,” Hostin said.
“So why do you think uneducated white women are voting against their reproductive health freedom, and why do you think Latino men voted in favor of someone who is going to deport the majority of their community? Is it,” asked co-host Rick Klein, ABC’s political news director, dressed in all black.
“I don’t think white women like being called an uneducated white woman,” co-host Alyssa Farrah Griffin, who was dressed all in black, responded.
Whoopi Goldberg refused to even mention the President-elect’s name during the broadcast.
“He is the President. I still won’t tell his name. That’s not going to change,” the “Sister Act” star said.
