One of the most popular bizarre beverages on the internet is Gatorwine, which is exactly what its name implies: Gatorade mixed with wine.
It's unclear where this mix-up originated, but it was brought to the spotlight by cook and YouTuber Andrew Rea, better known as Binging with BabishAfter a commenter submitted this mix for review Special tasting edition Of Babish Cooking Universe,
The video explains that GatorWine is equal parts light blue Gatorade and cheap red wine, with a bottle costing less than $12.
“This is exactly what I need right now — some electrolytes, some alcohol,” Rhea joked before tasting it.
After taking a sip and making a funny face, the YouTube star gave a funny explanation.
“It’s not something I’ve ever tasted. Never,” he laughed. “I don’t know what to do about it. Because if I’m being honest, I’d rather drink this than Barefoot or Yellowtail.”
“Does it make me arrogant or does it make me cool? I don't know,” Rea shrugged, laughing and adding that he would “drink it on the rocks” and the more he drank it, the more he liked it.
