The Wanted star Max George has given his worried fans a health update after undergoing emergency heart surgery.
The 36-year-old British singer had to undergo the procedure after being taken to hospital after feeling unwell.
When doctors discovered he had heart problems, they initially told fans he might need a pacemaker.

George was diagnosed with 2:1 atrioventricular (AV) block in his heart, which causes the organ to either beat slowly or stop beating. Cleveland Clinic.
“Today was a short day trip. Full CT scan of my heart. Not something I want to do again!” he said in his most recent update this week.
“I have a 2:1 block in my heart. “Unfortunately my heart rate hasn’t gone up at all for about a week.”
“Because of this, we don’t have to wait very long, so it looks like my surgery will be sooner than the doctors thought.”
Reflecting on the past few days before his update, George said it had been “really hard”. “The last few nights have been really hard, but I wanted to say that I am completely grateful for all of your messages of support.
“Both people I know and people I don’t know.
“This has given me much-needed encouragement and my family has been overwhelmed with support, which means more to me than anything.”
“It’s going to be a tough few weeks/months… and Christmas in a hospital bed was not at all what I had planned!
“But, as always, I am surrounded by the love and support of my amazing partner Maisie, her family, my family and friends… and I am 100 percent in the best place possible.
“Although this is a huge shock and undoubtedly a blow, it is something I will take with everything I have! I consider myself very lucky that it was caught at that time.
“I’m sorry if I bore you with updates over the coming weeks… I’ve probably been in bed for a month with nothing much to do!”
George’s band The Wanted was formed in 2009 and is known for various hit songs including Glad You Came.
His bandmate Tom Parker died of stage 4 glioblastoma in March 2022.
Parker announced his diagnosis in October 2020.
“We are all completely devastated but we will fight this every step of the way,” he said at the time.
“We don’t want you to hurt, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and explore all available treatment options.
He wrote, “It will be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support we will overcome it.”
