The opening of the world’s most expensive hotel was accompanied by a three-day long party. A stage-breaking performance by Beyoncé was only fitting to mark a star-studded affair attended by Dubai aristocracy and Hollywood beau monde — Jay-Z, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bailey, Rebel Wilson… and the list goes on.
Atlantis The Royal, located in the outer ring of Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, one of the emirate’s poshest neighbourhoods, looks a bit like a postcard dream. A 43-storey luxury property offering sweeping views of the Dubai skyline and the Arabian Sea, the Atlantis The Royal has the world’s most expensive hotel suite that costs a staggering $100,000 (Rs 83 lakh) a night. This record was previously held by The Empathy Suite at Los Angeles’ Palms Casino Resort, which dropped its rates to $75,000 (Rs 62 lakh) per night.
In just a year since its opening, the hotel has achieved some key milestones, which include a recent five-star at the 2024 Star Awards by Forbes Travel Guide and a visit from football legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
A few months ago, content creator Alanna Panday, cousin of actor Ananya Panday, recorded her stay at the property’s two-level, white and gold-hued penthouse named ‘The Royal Mansion’. The clip, which she shared on Instagram, documents her walk-through of this particular penthouse, which includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms with steam rooms, spacious indoor and outdoor kitchens, a personal movie theatre, a stacked library, a private bar and game room, a 10-seater Arabian-style sunken majlis, a gorgeous temperature-controlled infinity pool and a private foyer with 100-year-old olive trees and sky-high ceilings.
Other than the Royal Mansion, the property, valued at $1.6 billion (Rs 13282 crore) houses 795 rooms, suites and penthouses, 17 restaurants and bars fronted by celebrity chefs, The Sunday Guardian reports.
