Authorities say three women were found dead in an Ohio home over the weekend, and police have launched a murder investigation over the gruesome discovery.
Officers responding to a 911 call made the horrific discovery at a Columbus residence Saturday afternoon.
Columbus Police Sgt. James Fuqua said the caller to 911 reported his friend was experiencing some type of medical emergency.
Upon making the grim discovery, police established a crime scene for further investigation, and doctors declared the three women dead at 4 pm. 10 TV,
A Columbus public-safety dispatcher initially told the outlet that the emergency call came in as a report of shots fired, but officials later said they were still investigating other causes of death for the victims.
“At this time of year – any time of year – it’s unfortunate when someone loses their life, but especially at this time of year. Fuqua told the outlet. “During the holidays, it will be very difficult for these grieving families to understand that these family members will no longer be in their lives.”

Fuqua could not immediately be reached by The Post on Sunday.
The apparent murder comes less than a week after Tuesday’s shooting in the state capital, when a 45-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the courtyard of a local home.
He was treated at a local hospital but died a day later.
