Buck Angel, who transitioned from female to male in the 1990s, said, “When I transitioned, I lost every right I had to a woman’s place, and that’s what a transsexual understands.” “When you make changes, you don’t get everything you want.
“Trans women are not women. I don’t care what you say. I am not a man. I am a transsexual man.
In the latest episode ofwe never had this conversationRikki Schlott of The Post, a podcast from Bill Maher’s Club Random network, interviewed Angel, who identifies as a transsexual — and not transgender — about the gender issues dominating our culture wars.
Engel makes special exceptions for transgender athletes, like former University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas — who eliminated biologically female competitors from the water.
“I really believe that Lia Thomas and all this ‘trans women are women’ thing is a really misogynistic movement because no trans women I know would ever do that,” Angel, 62, said. “They respect women’s space.”
Engel, who lived as a lesbian until she was 30, was a high-ranking competitive runner as a female athlete in Los Angeles in the late 1970s — something she said made her even more aware of the need. Makes sensitive. protect women’s sports,
“I dominate this game because I remember what it takes,” he said. “Sports are not human rights… Why are we having this conversation (about trans athletes)?”
Engel, who lives in Los Angeles, is even more concerned about transgender women infiltrating women’s prisons.
California has been a particular hotspot for this topic, as many female prisoners in the state have become pregnant by other inmates in prison. Many women have also been kept in jail allegedly raped The custody of male prisoners who identified as female were transferred to women’s prisons.
“Real trans women (in prison) don’t want to be transferred to women’s prisons because they are treated like queens in men’s prisons,” Angel said. “Those who want to be transferred to women’s prisons are just predators. They always have some kind of background that is disgusting and disgusting, and they are there for rape and predatory things.
Angel was inspired to speak out around 2020 when she noticed a growing trend for change among young women — and realized that gender ideology was dominating the LGBT community.
“They are just telling (girls) that you can become a boy,” she said. “The point is, what happens when these kids grow up, they’re 25, and they’re no longer men?”
Angel says that, when she contracted the infection, she had to undergo years of therapy and screening. Today, he believes that young people move too quickly in the process and, therefore, may regret their decision.
Before her transition, Angel was also a bisexual model, long before her look became mainstream. While working as a female model, he appeared In a controversial music video by the band Porno for Pyros.
Engel, who calls himself “Tranpa” — a play on trans grandfather — says he’s concerned by the larger generational divide among trans people, with younger activists being more disparaged.
“In this new wave, people identify themselves as ‘trans’ and really push an agenda, but people like me don’t want you to know (that I’m biologically female). We just want to move up in the world,” he explained. “I want to look like a man.”
He also says he is concerned that, although the term is misused and used in a derogatory manner, there is a legitimate issue with “grooming” in the online trans community. He says adult predators are obsessed with sexually exploiting children and even separating them from their parents.
“There’s this thing about ‘Your parents don’t understand you’ and ‘Get away from your parents.’ It’s really scary,” he said. on podcast“It’s like adults are manipulating children… there are a lot of fraudsters… it’s happening 100%.”
He also takes issue with a new wave of “neo-pronouns” such as they/they or xi/xir – something he says is a linguistic “trap”.
“Don’t force me to use your pronouns. I’ve never forced anyone to use my pronouns, and everyone calls me ‘she’ because I participate in the world (as a visible person),” he said.
Angel, who underwent invasive surgery and years of hormone therapy, is angry at young people who engage in neo-pronouns without any real buy-in.
“If it’s a woman calling herself ‘she/they’, they just want brownie points. They just want to be a part of this new thing,” Angel said. “You’re never going to change, so why should I give you the respect of calling you ‘she’ when I tried so hard?”
Despite living as a trans man for over 30 years, he has been criticized by the trans “community” for having heterodox opinions about gender issues.
“I’m constantly called transphobic,” Engel said. “I’m actually ostracized by the trans community, which is fine by me because I have no problem being ostracized by a community that is dishonest on so many levels.”
