the truth is out there.
President-elect Donald Trump on Monday accused President Biden and the Pentagon of hiding information about large drones seen hovering over New Jersey and New York.
“The government knows what’s going on,” Trump, 78, said after Biden representatives expressed ignorance despite thousands of residents of the Garden State and New York City seeing the planes and, in some cases, taking photos.
“Look, our forces know where they took off from – if it’s a garage, they can go straight to that garage. They know where it came from and where it went, and for some reason they don’t want to comment,” the once-and-would-be president said during a wide-ranging 70-minute press conference in Palm Beach, Florida.
“And I think they’d better say what it is. Our army knows and our President knows. And for some reason, they want to keep people confused.
But Trump avoided answering whether he personally received any intelligence about the drones, leading to much fear and speculation.
“I don’t want to comment on that,” he told a reporter.
“I can’t imagine that this is the enemy,” the future commander-in-chief said at another point. “Because if it was the enemy, they would have blown it up – even if they were late, they would have blown it up.”
Trump also said, “Something strange is going on.” “For some reason they don’t want to tell people, and they should.”
He said, in an apparent joke, that he would cancel his weekend plans to visit his golf club in Bedminster, NJ.
“They’re very close to Bedminster. I think I probably won’t spend the weekend in Bedminster. I have decided to cancel my trip,” he said.
White House spokesman John Kirby last week Claimed that federal officials “Neither state and local law enforcement officials are nor have been able to confirm any of the reported sightings.”
In contrast, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called for transparency, saying the public has a right to know.
“New Yorkers have a tremendous amount of questions about (drones). We’re going to get answers,” he said Sunday.
The White House and the Pentagon did not immediately respond to The Post’s requests for comment.
