Tyrese Says Ving Rhames Triggered Him While Filming ‘Baby Boy’

Tyrese says that his response to Ving Rhames’ Baby Boy character triggered him in real life while filming.

“I was not acting in Baby Boy. That n-gga Ving Rhames definitely triggered the sh-t out of me. I don’t like the n-gga to this day,” said Tyrese.

“I run into that n-gga to this day. I don’t give a f-ck where we at, what clothes we got on, what we doing, what event— it could be the Golden Globes— I see that n-gga across the room I be like, ‘Man, f-ck that n-gga back there.””

Baby Boy is a 2001 American coming-of-age hood drama film directed, written, and produced by John Singleton and starring Tyrese Gibson, Snoop Dogg, Ving Rhames, Omar Gooding, A.J. Johnson and Taraji P. Henson. The film follows Joseph “Jody” Summers (Gibson), a 20-year-old bike mechanic as he lives and learns in his everyday life in the hood of Los Angeles.

Rhames played “Jody’s” stepfather in the movie.
